Head Injuries
What happens if my child suffers a head injury?
If your child experiences a knock, bump or blow to the head, we assess them using a minor head injuries checklist. The symptoms of a minor head injury (click here for NHS detailed description) are usually mild and short-lived. They may include:
- a mild headache (click here for NHS detailed description)
- nausea (feeling sick)
- mild dizziness
- mild blurred vision
Students are advised of the signs of concussion and are given a head injury advice card for parent’s/carer’s information.
